Who we are
Alivio Search Partners LLC, doing business as Build With Alivio (“we”, “us”), builds and operates LegalHub, a practice management application, for the law firms that hire us (“the Firm”). LegalHub is used only by the Firm’s own staff, by invitation.
The Firm decides what information goes into LegalHub and how its clients’ information is used. We run LegalHub for the Firm, on its behalf and under its instructions. Questions about a law firm’s own handling of client information should go to that firm.
Information in LegalHub
Staff accounts: the name, email address and role of each person the Firm invites, and records of their sign-ins and activity in the app.
Firm records: the cases, contacts, documents, time, invoices, payments, trust records and other information the Firm’s staff enter or upload, including what the Firm’s clients and prospective clients give the Firm, for example through its online intake forms.
Bank transaction data, through Plaid: if the Firm connects one of its own business bank accounts, LegalHub receives the posted transactions for the accounts the Firm chooses: date, amount, description, check number and transaction ID. It also receives each account’s name, the last four digits of its number and its type, so the Firm can choose which accounts to use. LegalHub doesn’t receive or store full account or routing numbers, or the Firm’s bank sign-in details.
Plaid
LegalHub uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect to the Firm’s bank. When the Firm connects an account, the bank sign-in happens in Plaid’s own window: LegalHub never sees the username or password. Plaid collects and handles that information under its own End User Privacy Policy. By connecting an account, the person connecting it allows Plaid to collect the account information and share it with LegalHub for the purposes below.
The connection is read-only: LegalHub can’t move money. The Firm can disconnect at any time in LegalHub. Disconnecting ends the connection at Plaid and deletes LegalHub’s access to it.
How we use information
We use information only to provide LegalHub to the Firm (its case management, billing, trust accounting and bookkeeping) and to keep LegalHub secure and working. Bank data is used only to bring the Firm’s transactions into its own bookkeeping, so the Firm can categorize them, match them to payments and reconcile its accounts. We do not sell information, and we don’t use it for advertising or for anything the Firm hasn’t asked for.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run LegalHub, so they can do so: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and file storage), Plaid (bank connections), Google (staff sign-in, email and calendar, when the Firm uses them) and Confido (online payments, when the Firm uses them). We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect LegalHub, the Firm or others from harm, and we’ll tell the Firm about such a request unless the law forbids it.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Bank access tokens are also kept encrypted and are readable only by LegalHub’s servers. Access is limited by role: only the Firm’s admins, attorneys and billing staff can see financial and bookkeeping records. No system is perfectly secure; we’ll notify the Firm promptly if we learn of a breach affecting its information.
How long we keep it
We keep the Firm’s information for as long as the Firm uses LegalHub, and afterwards as the Firm directs or the law requires. Imported bank transactions become part of the Firm’s accounting records. When the Firm disconnects a bank, no new data is collected.
Choices and requests
The Firm can export its information or ask us to delete it by writing to us. People whose information the Firm holds should contact the Firm directly; we’ll help the Firm respond.
Changes
We’ll post any change to this policy on this page with a new effective date, and tell the Firm about significant changes.
